All those who thought that size zero was the in thing in women fashion, think again! In a British government supported plan to be revealed next month, fashion students will have to use Size 18 mannequins. This move is primarily aimed at discouraging the women fashion trend & fixation of size zero.
The average British woman size is that of Size 16-18 & hence by encouraging the fashion students to use the mannequins of the said, the government wants to usher in a women fashion trend for the masses. At present, there is huge disconnect between what size is produced in fashion stables and the requirement of the consumer.
Experts also believe that the middle aged women fashion segment is by far the biggest in Britain and hence producing clothes for this segment makes much more business sense.
