Braids were back in the spotlight for women style hair trends in 2010, and formed the basis for the year's hottest hairstyle, the side braid. Yet hair trends only last for so long, and the side braid has already evolved into a new braid-based trend for 2011 which can best be described as half up braided hair.
This is one of those styles that comes straight off the autumn/winter 2011/2012 catwalk. Seen on the runway at Nanette Lepore's show, this style features two French braids and works for either long hair or a longish bob. The braids should reach only about half way down the head, with the rest of the hair hanging loose. Secure the end of the braids with several bobby pins, crossing them over to ensure they stay in place.
